It's true caucuses are undemocratic and subject to rigging and not based on popular sentiment, but they won't be done away with because they are far cheaper to hold than primaries.

At this point nobody cares how Sanders "polls" against Trump, who isn't going to win anyway once everybody sees how utterly stupid and in over his head Trump is.
Sanders couldn't win a single state, and perhaps not even DC if he had the nomination. He has a whole closet of skeletons--real ones--that would make it easy for any Republican to beat him.
