Is it true Trump wanted to get out of the nominee gig and tried to offer it to Governor John Kasich, the man most conspicuous by his absence from the festivities and demagoguery of this year's Republican National Convention?
He supposedly was offered the running mate slot. Trump figured Kasich, like Dick Cheney in the Bush II administration, would do all of the work while Trump would be a mere figurehead.
If true, I would have like to have been a fly on the wall listening to THAT conversation.
I expect Kasich to be back in 2020.
