It may a few days late for the holidays although we still have New Year's Day coming, but for many family members, estrangement from the rest of the tribe may be the only solution to having a decent holiday.
I can say that get-togethers have always been good with my family even when there were feuds of various types and involving various family members.
Some people, however, have more serious family issues like mental illness and substance abuse to ever have contact.
