Obituary: Carrie Fisher
Actress and author Carrie Fisher, 60, never recovered from a heart attack she suffered on a flight back to Los Angeles. It was announced today she had died.
She was best known for her appearances in the Star War films. She was also an acclaimed author, including her bestseller Postcards From the Edge. It was returning from yet another book tour promoting her latest book that she suffered from the ultimately fatal heart attack.
This new book is the one where she detailed her torrid affair with way-older co-star on Star Wars Harrison Ford, a man who continued to rob the cradle and ended up with Calista Flockhart. Carrie and Ford did the nasty when they were working on the original film. She was 19 at the time while he was around his mid-thirties.
Fisher, of course, was the daughter of entertainers Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. As Carrie got older, she looked more and more like her mother, who is now 84 and still active.
Since I am posting on my tablet, I am limited on copying and pasting material here.
Carrie died at 8:55 this morning. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, her brother Todd, and her beloved French bulldog Gary.
She and her dog made a recent appearance on The Late Show:
