Evidently I missed this article about Jerry Lewis's celebrated turkey, The Day the Clown Cried, and that the film is not lost at all but a complete copy is in the Library of Congress. It can't be seen publicly until 2024, when the actor/comic turns 99, if he is still around.
Thirty minutes of it had been uploaded to YouTube in various incarnations, with more than a few having been pulled.
