The bettors had this race right, as Always Dreaming, with Johnny Velazquez in the saddle, won this year's Kentucky Derby rather decisively in the slop. He was the fifth consecutive favorite to win the Kentucky Derby.
The time was 2:03.59, way off Secretariat's record.
Second was LookinAtLee, third was Battle of Midway. Classic Empire finished fourth.
