She made her movie debut in “I Married an Angel”, released in 1942. She starred in two popular Dick Tracy movies in the 1940s, as the detective’s girlfriend Tess Trueheart. The witty Tess often sparred with Dick Tracy, who was always running off to a crime scene.
In the late 1940s, Jeffreys appeared on Broadway, starring in “Kiss Me Kate” and “Three Wishes for Jamie.”
She starred with her husband Robert Sterling on the television sitcom “Topper.” The series ran on CBS from 1953 until 1955. Jeffreys was called "the ghostess with the mostest". They also appeared together on an episode of the TV western series “Wagon Train.”
She also had a role in the soap opera General Hospital.
She was a much better person than the shitface who died yesterday.
