That is why the economic system is heavily rigged against women. It is to force them to be dependent on men, and men in turn get that all-important sexual access and free domestic labor, including raising any children that may result. There is no mystery as to why the wage gap still exists, why sex discrimination still exists, why so-called women's work is denigrated, why the "family wage" still exists. To put it crudely, it is all about men's dicks. Men as a group cannot tolerate women who live independently of them, especially straight women. Even in the 21st century, never-married women are still stigmatized. You'd think it was still the 1950s.

Women who live with men but dare to leave men are under constant threat, not just from the men they live with, but from society as a whole. Poverty is a powerful incentive for women to stay.

The "othering" of the opposite sex needs to stop. I am convinced the BSA and the GSA will eventually merge. The truth is we should NOT be separating children thinking the opposite sex is the "other" and that they are icky and disgusting. This "othering" begins right after birth with the different colors for the different sexes, and it is downhill from there. Girls don't really have "different" hopes, dreams, and ambitions from boys--they are DENIGRATED if they have anything that is remotely in common with boys. This is why sex roles--gender--are poison. The BSA and GSA were largely founded on sex-role stereotyping. There is no need to "other" the opposite sex anymore by not socializing with them in childhood.

No wonder I didn't have kids. I sure as hell didn't miss anything about childbirth.
