The asshole GOPers like Mitch McConnell want to ram through their idiot tax bill before Doug Jones can be seated.
Of course Jones won't be seated until next month, I believe.
It was so good to hear sanity prevailed last night, but the vote shouldn't even have been close in Alabama. Defeated Roy Moore has been pushing for a recount, but he was rebuffed at least officially.
Jones may wind up being only a two-year senator, as the seat opens again in 2020. Luther Strange might run again for the GOP.
A replacement for Al Franken is in the works, assuming Franken actually does leave the Senate. The replacement will be Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith.
When she is seated, Minnesota will have two female senators.
