Ohio has decided to ban abortions in down syndrome cases.
Down syndrome children today live far longer than they did 30, 35 years ago. They can live fairly productive lives and now can live well into their fifties if not longer.
There are problems with these children, mostly cognitive issues and heart issues, but still they can lead productive lives.
I support legal abortion, but having worked with DS students, I question anybody who makes a decision to abort on this, just as I do with sex selection.
