Year-round DST was tried back in the 1970s, when Nixon was president, but there were complaints from parents and school districts about children having to wait for buses in the dark or walking to school in the dark, so the idea was abandoned.
I loved it when it was done because I always like the extra daylight at the end of the day, but the year-round idea lasted just one year.
Florida decided to go year-round DST, which is going to make their time an hour ahead of Eastern Time, which should be quite a deal, as states like Maine are way to the east of Florida.
I always hate it when the time switches from DST to standard time and people bitch about DST. They need to go to bed an hour earlier, and their bodies will easily get used to the time change.
It isn't like jet lag, after all, from traveling halfway across the world.
