Rep. Kevin Brady needs to go away.  His scheme about WEP would make it way, way worse for public employees affected by it.  It is better to keep the offsets as they are than make them worse.

The offsets were put in originally because of the notion public employees worked in one job or career their entire lives, received "huge pensions," and therefore they didn't need their full Social Security benefits.  It isn't true today, if it ever was, as most public employees do not work that many years in public employment.
