The family is right-wing in beliefs anyway, so this is hardly any kind of news.

Obituary: Many-times married Robert Evans, 89, a producer of films such as Chinatown, has died.
Born in New York City to a dentist and his wife, Evans was a child actor on radio and in the early years of television.
When stardom eluded him, Evans took a job promoting sales for Evan-Picone, a clothing company co-owned by his brother, Charles.
He was working that gig when actress Norma Shearer spotted the good-looking Evans at the Beverly Hills Hotel pool.
She successfully lobbied for Evans to portray her late husband, MGM producer Irving Thalberg, in the 1957 Lon Chaney film, "Man of a Thousand Faces."
Interesting about Norma Shearer. Evans wasn't the only performer she discovered. Janet Leigh was another.
Anyway, for the record, I will list the seven marriages, none of which lasted worth a crap. After wife number 7, he gave it up for good:
Sharon Hugueny: 1961-1964
Camilla Sparv: 1964-1967
Ali McGraw: 1969-1973
Phyllis George 1977-1978
Evans took a twenty-year break at this point, thinking he would be wise not to marry again, but no such luck.
In 1998, he took the plunge again:
Catherine Oxenberg: 1998-1998
Leslie Ann Woodward 2002-2004
Lady Victoria White 2005-2006
Despite all the marriages, he had only one child, Josh Evans, whose mother is Ali McGraw. Robert Evans' marriage to McGraw turned out to be his longest, four years, so there was plenty of time for the pair to have children in wedlock.
Evans was right there in the running with fellow serial marriage contestants Liz Taylor, Mickey Rooney, Lana Turner, Artie Shaw, and Zsa Zsa Gabor, but by the end of 2006, he didn't have the stomach for matrimony anymore.
To be fair, he started having health problems in the late 1990s, and his health became a greater focus.

My representative, Greg Walden, has announced he will not seek re-election. The only problem is District 2 is rural and heavily Republican, and I don't expect it to change.

Sad death to note is former North Carolina senator Kay Hagan, 66. She died from complications resulting from a tick bite.
Hagan contracted Powassan virus in late 2016, and the subsequent brain inflammation made speaking and walking difficult for her.
'We already miss her humor and spirit as the hub of our family, a role she loved more than anything. Nobody could light up a room and make people feel welcome like Kay,' her family said in a statement.
Former President Barack Obama remembered Hagan as someone who worked with him to pass the Affordable Care Act and who had a 'reasoned, pragmatic voice.'
Really a sad way to go.
