Obituary:  Prominent racehorse and sire Empire Maker, 20, has died, Gainesway Farm has announced.  He won the Belmont Stakes in 2003, denying Funny Cide the Triple Crown.  He was a son of 1990 Kentucky Derby winner Unbridled.

Empire Maker was a highly successful sire.  One of his offspring, Pioneerof the Nile, not only was a top racehorse, he is also the sire of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

The farm said he had battled a rare disease and died Saturday.

Neither candidate has a shot at the nomination, so the New York Times decided to endorse Warren and Klobuchar as president.

Klobuchar, however, has a great chance of being Joe Biden's running mate.
