The Senate voted, 51 to 49, to "acquit" the brazenly guilty Donald Trump, with a defiant Mitt Romney telling him to stick it by voting with the Democrats and a couple of independents on the first article. He joined the rest of the crooks to vote with them to "acquit" on Article II with a final tally of 52 to 48.
Everybody knows he is guilty. This is all about appeasing the GOP base and about the fall elections.
Democrats are hoping the public will rebuke the GOP by firing Trump and getting rid of the GOP majority in the Senate.
