More for Joe Biden:

 Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

Biden’s record of service is a testament to the enduring power of relationships, listening, and the search for common ground. His empathy, positivity, belief in American values and in the best of humanity will be a welcome balm to a nation nearly sundered by polarization. His ability to reach out to the other side is evidenced by a phenomenon without precedent: prominent Republicans who have stepped forward to support his bid.

That’s in part because Biden is a moderate, despite Trump’s slanderous efforts to characterize him as some wild-eyed radical socialist. His plan for the economy would restore a needed emphasis on the middle class. Trump’s own alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, analyzed Biden’s plan and concluded it would lead to faster economic growth, higher wages for American workers and a reduced debt. The former vice president would move to refine and improve the ACA, just as this country has done with every other major piece of legislation over its history. He would bring competence and expertise back to federal agencies hollowed out by the grifters and bunglers Trump installed.

New Hampshire's Keene Sentinel:

Biden is experienced in every facet of government, for decades a lawmaker universally respected for his knowledge of foreign policy. So much so, in fact, that it was among the primary reasons the former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was chosen to run with relatively inexperienced Barack Obama in 2008. One would have to be completely isolated not to comprehend the steep decline in respect among the rest of world for U.S. policy and leadership the Trump administration has engendered in just a few years. Refusing to adhere to longstanding agreements; pulling out of military engagements, leaving allies overwhelmed; insulting respected world leaders at every turn, and, most tellingly, not even bothering to fill a large percentage of State Department posts, in a signal that we won’t be wasting time on diplomacy.

Biden is almost uniquely positioned to restore our international reputation. In addition to his broad experience and reputation as a thoughtful, serious leader, he’s sent his own son to war; he knows the price American families may pay for the decisions made in Washington to use our military as a tool abroad.

 Bangor Daily News:

Replacing Trump with Joe Biden won’t fix things overnight. It won’t automatically make Congress more functional or immediately make Washington more responsive to the needs of the American people. It won’t heal generations of inequality on its own. But it would set us back on a course of working together toward a better America, a more just America, and more civil America.

Biden was not our first choice for the Democratic nomination. But, he will bring much-needed competency and compassion to the White House. Having served eight years as a vice president and 36 years as a U.S. senator, Biden would bring a depth of experience to the presidency that is likely to translate to a more unified, respected and prosperous country.

Kenosha News:

Democratic challenger Joe Biden isn’t flashy or charismatic. But he is solid and experienced. He served eight years as vice president and more than three decades in the U.S. Senate. He will assemble a strong team of advisers and respect their expertise. Biden will approach the job of being the most powerful person on the planet with the seriousness it deserves.

Citizen's Voice:

If elected, Biden faces not only immediate multiple crises, but also the challenges of restoring civility to our politics, repairing relations with nations that share our values and realigning our economy to reverse the yawning prosperity gap, address the worsening consequences of climate change and rebuild our neglected infrastructure.

In his measured, inclusive and sensible approach to this most unorthodox of presidential elections, Biden has proven himself up to the task, armed with policy proposals that promise to improve the lives of Luzerne County residents and the citizens of the nation at large.

Biden’s science-based plan for true national leadership on our pandemic response would increase the availability of free testing, expand and better coordinate the distribution of personal protective equipment to frontline health workers, extend emergency funding to allow schools to reopen safely and send a clear message to all Americans on the importance of wearing masks, social distancing and personal responsibility.

Baltimore Sun:

We enthusiastically endorse Democrat Joe Biden for president. The Scranton-Pennsylvania-born, six-term senator from Delaware and two-term vice president alongside President Barack Obama has half a century’s worth of experience in public service. He has a solid respect for the democratic process and has a demonstrated history of working across divides to bring people together — but he also has wisdom enough to know when to scrap efforts at compromise and fight like hell for what’s right.

His blue-collar roots — his dad was a used car salesman, and Mr. Biden washed windows to help pay his Catholic high school tuition — taught him the importance of hard work and perseverance (and the thrill of eschewing both sometimes in favor of partying in college). And it gave him a practical understanding of the struggles and desires of the average American that he retains today.

He knows what it is to face adversity in both politics and his personal life, overcoming a childhood stutter and enduring the devastating deaths of his first wife and their young daughter in a car crash in 1972 and of his adult son Beau from brain cancer in 2015. He is known for having a deep well of empathy and a rare willingness to listen.

Laredo Times:

As another newspaper noted, yes, we can judge Trump and Biden on major issues such as climate control, managing pandemic, international trade, criminal justice reform, health care and immigration reform. But what really counts in today’s contentious environment? It is electing someone who has strength of character to unite the United States and to lead us in these important areas.

The obvious choice is Joe Biden.

What’s at stake in this election is larger than Trump voters or voters who are intent on changing the occupant of the Oval Office. It’s actually larger than any voting bloc on the political scene. What’s at stake in 2020 is the basic art of democracy.

We’ve reached a point where we’ve become uncivil to each other, where strategies have devolved into finding one way or another to ram through even major policy changes that include such radical steps as abolishing private health insurance or designing tax programs to punish economic success (rather than with the simple aim of raising the revenue the government needs to function).
