It's too bad about senators Graham and Tillis.

Earlier in Graham's Senate career, he had not been friendly to the Catawba's efforts to gain a gambling foothold in the state, blocking them from opening a bingo hall in 2003 out of fears that it would expand the "Indian gaming problem."

"I am not going to vote for any federal statute until there's a consensus at home as to what is the best course to deal with the Indian gaming problem," the freshman senator told South Carolina outlet The State in 2003. "And in fairness to the Catawbas, the state of South Carolina created this mess," he added. "Things come back to bite you."

Tillis had previously opposed the tribe's proposals as well, joining a bipartisan group of more than 100 North Carolina lawmakers in a 2013 letter pushing back against the Catawba plan for a casino in the state. That year, the Catawba first applied for development rights to the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs; in the previous year, Tillis had accepted $4,000 from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the Catawba's rival in the dispute.

Trump literally left people out in the cold.

Hundreds of people who attended President Donald Trump’s rally Tuesday evening at Eppley Airfield spent up to three hours in freezing temperatures waiting for buses to take them back to their cars.

Officer Michael Pecha, an Omaha Police Department spokesman, said 30 people received medical attention and seven were taken to area hospitals with various medical conditions.

Tim Conahan, police chief for the Omaha Airport Authority, said just over 21,000 people were screened into the event, and more people were still inside the queue line awaiting screening. Trump said during his speech that 29,000 people were there.

The president, who spoke for nearly an hour, wrapped up shortly before 9 p.m. The last person got onto a bus about 11:50 p.m., Pecha said.

Yet another cold case has been solved through genetic genealogy.

Article without paywall:

San Diego police announced Tuesday they’d arrested a 75-year-old Pennsylvania man on suspicion of murder in Scott’s killing. John Sipos was taken into custody Saturday at his home in Schnecksville, not far from Allentown on the east side of the state.

Sipos remained jailed in Lehigh County, Pa., on Tuesday and was awaiting extradition to San Diego County. His attorney, John Waldron, said he is still evaluating how to address the extradition matter, but has not yet met Sipos in person. The Pennsylvania-based attorney said the jail’s COVID-19 precautions mean a three-week quarantine for his client, who he said has medical concerns including diabetes and three prior heart attacks.

At least this guy is still alive.  Most of the time, these killers are dead by the time they are found out.
