Some White Male Privilege Reads

In the end, what these riots and protests are about is about retaining white male privilege. This privilege is embodied by outgoing president Donald Trump.   It is a desire by the white dudes, and, to a much lesser extent, white women,  to go back to the 1950s where minorities and especially women knew their "place."  Women not only had a "place" but they were nothing but a "role" of a marital or reproductive status, basically not fully human.

I have written about them many times over the years, so articles like the below are simply stating the obvious:

White Riot

Trump Supporters' Main Problem Was Never the Economy

The last article notes there weren't many poor or working class white dudes at these protests and riots.  They were mostly affluent types who want to keep those "others" (women and minorities) out of their plum jobs.

It really isn't rocket science to explain what is driving the Trump support among the white dudes.

Over the years, subsequent studies would add layers of nuance to the understanding and interpretation of the 1994 results. By 2007, researchers were explaining the White male effect in the context of cultural cognition, demonstrating that it was only indirectly a product of gender and race—that at a fundamental level, it stemmed from differences in cultural identity, socioeconomic security, and attitudes toward egalitarianism and community. But the through-line was that different groups can perceive the same risk through vastly different lenses. And in the case of White men, it is often a lens that seeks to preserve institutionalized cultural identity and societal status. As many observed, there is a stark difference between the response to and treatment of the thousands of Stop the Steal rioters on Wednesday and the response to and treatment of the thousands who gathered in D.C. in June 2020 in support of Black Lives Matter.

In other words, white males are the biggest snowflakes on the planet.

They kept voting the wrong way, voting for people who were gutting unions, instituting ruinous trade agreements, and sending jobs overseas.  I used to feel sorry for these dudes, but not anymore.  Fuck all of them.  They can just die out.
