I have been completely preoccupied with other things, especially a death of somebody I cared out, and therefore I ignored this blog for almost three days.
There hasn't been much in the way of news to comment on, anyway.

Obituary: Actor Dean Stockwell, 85, died on Sunday. He died of natural causes. Beginning in childhood, he had one of the longest careers in show business, with a career of 70 years and some 200 films. He was also seen often on television:
Stockwell was born on March 5, 1936, in North Hollywood. By the time he was 7, he was on Broadway, launching a career as a child actor. He appeared in Anchors Aweigh with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly; Kim with Errol Flynn; Gentleman’s Agreement, which landed him a Golden Globe Award; and, most notably, in the controversial 1948 movie The Boy with the Green Hair.

I think any honest appraisal of the Virginia Democratic Party massacre of 2021 has to mention the outrage by parents and the general public over the gender identity b.s. in schools.

Another obit: Former senator Max Cleland of Georgia, 79, a Vietnam vet who lost both legs and an arm in battle there, has died. He died of CHF.
Snip:
Cleland was a U.S. Army captain in Vietnam when he lost his right arm and two legs while picking up a fallen grenade in 1968. He blamed himself for decades, until he learned that another soldier had dropped it. He also spent many months in hospitals ill-equipped to help so many wounded soldiers.
Fellow veterans cheered when President Jimmy Carter appointed Cleland to lead the Veterans Administration, a post he held from 1977 to 1981. The VA and the wider medical community recognized post-traumatic stress disorder — what had been previously been dismissed as shell-shock — as a genuine condition while Cleland was in charge, and he worked to provide veterans and their families with better care.
