Obituary: Cosmetics founder/executive and QVC regular Tova Borgnine, 80, passed away the other day. An attractive woman, somehow she saw something in actor Ernest Borgnine, some 25 years her senior, and they married back in 1973. They were married nearly forty years until his death at 95 in 2012. It had to be love rather than money. Ernie wasn't all that in the looks department. Tova's cosmetics wouldn't have done him any good.
Norwegian-born Tova, though, wasn't just another pretty face:
Tova kick-started her beauty company in New Jersey during the 1960s.
After a failed marriage with a local businessman ended in 1965, Tova moved her makeup center to Las Vegas to be near her family.
By 1977, the revenues for her company, then called Tova9, were about $500,000, and by 1981, they were nearly $2million.
