Favorite Mo Donegal has won this year's Belmont Stakes by 3 lengths. Co-owner Mike Repole owns both the winner and runner-up horses. It was noted by NBC Sports there are about 300 people in this owner's or horse's entourage. Trainer Todd Pletcher scored his fourth Belmont win. Irad Ortiz, Jr., is the jockey.
Nest, the filly, was second (ridden by Ortiz's brother), and Skippylongstocking was third. The time was 2:28.28, way off Secretariat's unbreakable record of 2:24.
Mo Donegal didn't do that well in the Kentucky Derby, finishing as he did fifth.
