Outrages from the Post-Roe World

The first outrage is the story of a Louisiana woman who is denied an abortion in the state and is being forced to carry a headless fetus.

Snip:

Davis, who already has a child, has refrained from taking a position on abortion, WAFB-9 reported. She said she is now 13 weeks into her pregnancy.

“I just want them to consider special circumstances as it relates to abortion, medical programs,” Davis said. “Like this is one that needs to be—you know what I’m saying—in there.”

And then there is the case of a 16-year-old Florida girl who has been denied an abortion by a judge and may be forced to give birth.

This is nothing short of insane.  The judge says she isn't mature enough to get an abortion but somehow is "mature" enough to give birth to a baby and raise it.  Or give it up for adoption.

We have a truly fucked-up country that would even tolerate such outrages:

Snip:

A Florida court of appeal this week upheld a decision stating a 16-year-old teen could not get an abortion because she lacked the maturity to make such a decision, even after the parentless teen said she was not ready to have a child and is still in school.

An opinion released Monday by the Florida 1st District Court of Appeal upheld an earlier decision by a state court judge. That judge was not convinced the teen had demonstrated the maturity to choose to get an abortion. The teen, identified only as Jane Doe 22-B, has no parents but is in the care of Florida’s child welfare agency and has a guardian. She is about 10 weeks pregnant and currently resides with a relative.
