I  have been so sick the past five days, almost as sick as I have ever been in my life.  There is a bunch of norovirus going around, and I am having a tough time trying to shake it off.

In the few times I have had it in my life, I would be over it in a couple of days.  Here it has been five days, and I am still in a lot of pain.  It is my stomach and my gut.  It is so painful.  I suspect being older makes it harder to shake off.

Norovirus is the leading cause of foodborne illness in the U.S. At least 192 people got sick after eating raw oysters from British Columbia in June.

The virus is highly contagious, with symptoms similar to the stomach flu usually showing up 12 to 48 hours after someone is infected.

For most people, those symptoms resolve themselves in less than three days, so many people are never tested.
