A Few Monday Reads

In Louisiana today, there was a House hearing on the WEP and GPO, offsets that screw over many public employees in states that are affected by those offsets.  Here is the video of the hearing:

House Speaker Mike Johnson may be sympathetic to the plight of public employees affected by the offsets; after all, he represents one of the states affected, Louisiana.

Statement from the Fraternal Order of Police is here.

Repeal of the WEP would affect me tremendously.  I have a tiny pension from Nevada, yet I had 120 bucks taken off my Social Security check for the simple reason I didn't pay into it during the time I was a teacher there (about four years, with an additional year in other public sector work although I was paying into Social Security through a private school job).
