Despite the simple fact few women these days can afford to stay home and raise kids and just as few don't want to spend their lives doing nothing and being dependent on an entitled asshole for survival, there is a movement afloat to live the shitty 1950s lifestyle.
And lots of men eat it up because their inflated sense of entitlement. Hell, they are behind it. They hope by conning enough women to take the bait, they can have all the jobs and all the money unimpeded.
Meanwhile, to guarantee there are more "tradwives" (a misnomer since women have worked for pay since time began), the misogynists in the GOP are kowtowing to the antiabortion nutjobs, not even allowing legal abortions for rape, incest, or to save a woman's life. These people don't see women as human at all, only as things to fuck and reproduce. It has never been about fetuses--it is all about controlling women to benefit men, as if women need to be "controlled."
