No doubt the religious right will be happy with an uptick in marriages in the U.S. back to pre-pandemic levels. However, this blip doesn't change the overall trajectory of the decline in marriage rates overall.

Kentucky has opted for draconian legislation including that which basically criminalizes homelessness instead offering incentives to build decent housing.

I just love it when the media collectively says Trump merely makes gaffes while Biden is allegedly senile. We know or should that the "bloodbath" comment by Trump yesterday wasn't just about the auto industry--it was clear it was more than that.
When Trump said in effect the auto industry being hurt by China imports was "the least of it."

Why is this silliness being reported? It has always been the case that if one gets nursing home care, gets a home exemption from Medicaid, estate recovery is mandatory when that person dies. That is federal law. Most states even recover for general medical expenses, but that is up to the individual states (Oregon and Washington do not). Given how expensive nursing home or home health care is, the taxpayers have the right to be refunded the money from the estate. If one doesn't have an estate to recover, there is no asset recovery. I don't know why sites like Democratic Underground have people who seem to not understand the logic of it at all.
This is really a nonstory. It seems like spoiled brat heirs don't want to give up "their" inheritance.
