Guilty and Other News

It was another one for the record books when it comes to the 45th President of the United States as Donald J. Trump, nearly 78, became the first former president in history to be convicted of a crime.

The jury took two days and ten hours to reach a verdict.

Whether the conviction will survive an appeal remains to be seen.  Call me cynical, but I will believe Trump goes to jail when I see it.

His followers will even be more slavish to their Dear Leader than they are now.  They think he was being persecuted.  As for Trump, he simply doesn't care what he does; he thinks he IS the law.

Details:

A New York jury on Thursday found former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels by his then-personal lawyer Michael Cohen before the 2016 election.

Trump, 77, is the first U.S. president to be convicted of any crime. He faces three other pending criminal cases.

His sentencing for the hush money case was scheduled for July 11 at 10 a.m. ET by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan.

That is just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where the twice-impeached Trump is set to be formally confirmed as the GOP’s presidential nominee.

***

And millions will still vote for this man.  Inccredible.

I don't want to forget the May 22nd death of one-time child actor and brother of Dwayne, Darryl Hickman, who was 92. His brother died two years ago, and his death was noted on this blog.

Darryl was also in films quite a bit when he was a child. He later became a screenwriter and teleision executive.

Snip:

Hickman was born July 28, 1931, in Hollywood, California, and signed to a contract at Paramount after being discovered by a dance school director. His first film was 1937’s The Prisoner of Zenda as Ronald Colman’s son.

Among his many films was The Star MakerUntamed, Men of Boys Town, Mob Town, Joe Smith, American, The Human Comedy, Rhapsody in Blue, Two Years Before the Mast, Boys’ Ranch, Alias Nick Beal, and The Set-Up.

As the article notes, Darryl was in Dobie Gillis and played Dobie's brother, who of course was played by Darryl's brother, Dwayne.
