Obituary:  Yesterday, noted actress Janis Paige, 101, died at her home of natural causes. She had a stage career as well as one on film.

Doing Silk Stockings was a physical ordeal for Janis, but she never turned down anything asked by Fred Astaire, as mentioned in the linked obit.

Snip:

Born Donna Mae Tjaden in Tacoma, Washington, on Sept. 16, 1922, Paige moved to Los Angeles with her sister after graduating from Stadium High School and was hired to sing at the Hollywood Canteen, the club on Cahuenga Boulevard that was set up by the studios to entertain military personnel during World War II.

Good on the Democrats to put pressure on the GOP to do the right thing.  They are trying to force a vote on IVF and also on contraception.  I wish they would try and repeal the odious Comstock Act.
