A Few Reads for Tonight

Obituary: Actor John Amos, 84, known for his television roles in Roots  and the sitcom Good Times, died August 21, but his son decided to disclose his father's death yesterday.  His sister was quite upset she wasn't privy to the news six or seven weeks ago.  It seems they weren't on good terms.

That kind of thing is one of the reasons I never had kids and had no desire to get married.  Why the hell put up with crap like that?

Snip:

Shannon's relationship with her father had its ups and downs, but in one of his final interviews with PEOPLE in December 2023, John said of his daughter, whom he'd previously accused of elder abuse, "That is my daughter, my first child. I love her."

He continued, "K.C. loves his sister. We just have, I guess, what might be best described in the tabloids is an acrimonious relationship, but everything heals in time, and the love is still there."
