The big news today is Andrew Cuomo, 63, son of the late, great governor and orator Mario Cuomo, has decided to salvage what is left of the family reputation and resign as governor of New York. He resigned amid a slew of sexual harassment allegations, whether real or not, whether politically motivated or not.
Never cared for the guy. He was a pale shadow of his dad, who should have been president but never considered himself good enough for the job. Mario was a great man with no personal scandals at all. Makes you wonder if the babies got switched at birth.
The reason I didn't like Andrew Cuomo is because he is virulently anti-teacher, just like former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg. He was all too willing to throw teachers under the bus under the guise of those idiotic education "reforms." I always hoped he would never run for president. I got my wish. Now his political career is finished. Besides, sexual harassers do better as Republicans. Just ask Donald Trump. And don't drag Bill Clinton into this. His accusers were all paid liars, chiefly by outfits funded by the late billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife, who were there to try and destabilize his administration. Lewinsky was not among them, but she wasn't sexually harassed, either.
Cuomo has given two weeks notice. Democrat AG Kathy Hochul will take over from Cuomo.
Cuomo will have his chance to defend himself against the allegations.
