Still more from my video archives is this speech given by former president Bill Clinton at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center on August 17, 2007. He had just returned from Lake Tahoe to speak at the 10th annual Lake Tahoe Summit. About 2,000 or so people came to the convention center, and as I was the third person in line to attend, I got the privilege of being almost directly in front of him.

Because I recorded this speech in HI8 and don't have a converter to make this digital, I merely recorded it from the television using my digital camcorder and uploaded here. There is obviously a reduction in quality just as the Obama speech I uploaded the other day has. One of these days I will get a converter so one can get a good picture of this event.

Even if I did have the video converted to digital, the harsh lighting would still be there. I hate it when there is either too much or little light at these events, for the faces get washed out or discolored. Anyway, Clinton spoke for about a half hour, and this speech is complete:

Between 2,000 and 2,200

spectators were on hand at yesterday's Tahoe Summit, held on the campus of Sierra Nevada College.

I would have gone up there if Clinton hadn't decided to make a visit to Reno also.

will be hanging around northern Nevada on Friday, with the highlight being his attendance at the 10th Tahoe Summit.

It will be a nonpartisan affair, as both Democrats and Republicans want to preserve the lake for the zillionaires, developers, and for the so-called working class who lost their homes in the Angora Fire.

Had they really wanted to preserve the lake, they would order all development torn down and turn the lake back over to the bears and the squirrels.

Then they could make the area a national park, just as it should have been all along.
