Miscellaneous News

Text messages between Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi during the last hours before the July 4 murder-suicide have been made public.

The ad geniuses at Ralph Lauren and their ilk deserve every bit of criticism and more for those notorious photoshopped images of already grotesquely thin women looking even more freakish.

Talk about absolutely twisted:

A spokeswoman for Polo Ralph Lauren has apologized for the photo of the stick figure with the freakishly out-of-proportion head, albeit after the company tried and failed to suppress dissemination of this image on the Web. But the story has a final twist. Last week the company fired the model in the ad, Filippa Hamilton. She says she lost her job because the company thought she had grown too fat. She’s a size 4, 120 pounds on a 5-foot-10 frame. The company says it ditched her because of her “inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us.” Just a crazy coincidence, I’ve no doubt.

How in the hell is a size 4, 120 pounds, on a nearly six-foot tall frame considered fat? That's anorexic. Sorry, but that scrawny a body is no beauty standard.

It appears Steve McNair taped a PSA on suicide prevention before being offed by a suicidal mistress.

Although There Was Some Speculation

Sahel Kazemi's ex might have had something to do with her death and the murder of her married boyfriend, former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, it was murder-suicide after all.

It was classic jealousy, and it appears it wasn't just because McNair had a wife and four kids, either:

Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas said at a press conference this afternoon that their interviews with Kazemi's friends and coworkers showed that in the last five to seven days of her life, the 20-year-old felt her life was unraveling.

She had recently saw signs that McNair may be involved with another woman, and she might have been worried about making rent payments and payments on two cars, including a Cadillac Escalade registered in both her and McNair's name.

“We do believe there was evidence that she was spinning out of control,” Serpas said.

Serpas said Kazemi shot McNair in the right temple. That was followed quickly with two shots to the chest from about two to four feet away. Then she shot him in the left temple, which Serpas said was a "contact shot" within two inches from his head.

Then she sat next to him on the couch, Serpas said, in such a way that police believe she tried to stage her suicide to fall into his lap. She shot herself in the temple. Police think she fell into McNair's lap, then gravity pulled her to the floor.

Clearly, McNair was a louse, but he sure didn't deserve what he got.

A poster over at the San Francisco Chronicle site posted the lyrics to that old song, "Frankie and Johnny." It's pretty appropriate:

Frankie and Johnny were lovers
Oh lordy, how they could love
Swore to be true to each other
Just as true as the stars above
He was her man, but he done her wrong

Well, Frankie went down to the corner
To get a bucket of beer
She said to the fat bartender
"Has my lovin' Johnny been here?
He was my man, I think he's doing me wrong"

"Well, I don't want to cause you no trouble
And I don't want to tell you no lies
But I seen your man about an hour ago
With that high-browed Nellie Bly
He was your man, I think he's doing you wrong"

She took a cab at the corner
And said "Driver step on this can
For you're looking at a desperate gal
Been two-timed by her man
He was my man, but he done me wrong"

Then Frankie went home in a hurry
She didn't go there for fun
Frankie went home to get a-hold
Of Johnny's shooting gun
He was her man, but he done her wrong

Frankie peeked over the transom
And there to her surprise
She saw her lovin-man Johnny
With that high-browed Nellie Bly
He was her man, and he was doing her wrong

Then Frankie pulled back her kimono
And she pulled out a small .44
And root-e-toot-toot three times she shot
Right through that hardwood door
He was her man, but he done her wrong

"Well roll me over on my left side
Roll me over so slow,
Roll me over on my left hand side, Frankie,
Them bullets hurt me so,
I was your man, but I done you wrong"

Now, bring round your ruber-tired buggy
And bring round your rubber-tired hack
I'm taking my man to the graveyard
I ain't gonna bring him back
He was my man, but he done me wrong

Well this story has no moral
And this story has got no end
Well the story just goes to show you women
That there ain't no good in men
He was her man, but he done her wrong

Since O.J. Simpson no longer has a Ford Bronco, therefore his lawyers argue there is no reason for anybody to believe he would run away if he were released pending appeal of his bank robbery conviction.

Talk about wasting time.

Mechelle McNair didn't know anything about her husband's affair with another woman, and there had been no plans to divorce.

Miscellaneous

There is really NO doubt in my mind at least former NFL QB Steve McNair was murdered by his mistress because he wasn't going to divorce his wife for her.

Sahel Kazemi was a typical young idiot who hoped to bag a wealthy, famous man, and, failing that, she killed him, at least in my opinion:

Kazemi's family and friends pieced together a portrait of their relationship — one they were leery of because of her age — as police confirmed on Sunday that McNair was shot four times. Police have stopped just shy of calling it a murder-suicide at the Second Avenue condominium where both of them died.

"It's hard right now to imagine what people are saying," Abdi said. "I can't believe it because she was a sweet girl. This is hard on us."

A lot of "sweet" people do evil things. It is just a matter of motive and opportunity. NOBODY is immune.

Supposedly McNair was separated from his wife--though he was STILL married--and Kazemi thought they would get married--classic delusional thinking. I doubt it would have EVER happened.

She wanted to be famous, and she got that dream all right, but not in the way she hoped.
