This Is One Reason Why the United States of America is Screwed

Basically, as tons of evidence shows, it's a result of Washington policies that screw over the American masses in order to help the tiny number of people who happen to have stolen the money from the rest of us.

This has been going on for thirty years, and it doesn't help that the so-called Democratic Party is equally enthralled with these criminals.

You have to wonder about the I.Q. level of members of Congress or whether they are simply crooked themselves.

165K a Year to Do Nothing

It's nice "work" if you can get it, but the people who own our D.C. politicians make sure the "jobs" are restricted only to those bums willing to do their bidding and to hell with the voters.

There are only a handful of exceptions in Congress, people who actually care and want to do what is best for the American people, but they are hampered at every turn by the bums.

I am surprised this worthless Congress even passed as many as 104 laws since last year. I suspect most of those "laws" were obscure pork barrel legislation, so it appears to the public they are even more lazy.

It's a win-win for them and their owners, for they can peddled their right-wing/neoliberal talking points that government doesn't do anything at all, or if it does, it doesn't do anything right and therefore there should be even fewer regulations on corporations and even more tax breaks for the billionaires.

Besides, 165K a year is just pin money for most of these politicians, and they treat their "jobs" as if they are hobbies.

Act One of Kabuki Theater Appears to Be Over

at least for the time being. These idiots in Congress will kick the "crisis" down the road until Obama says we must gut Social Security and Medicare to avert a crisis.

All the while, of course, giving more handouts to the crooks who trashed the economy in the first place.

The theatrics culminated on Tuesday, when House Republicans failed to rally around an alternative to the emerging Senate plan floated by Boehner and his lieutenants as conservatives balked at the proposal. The ordeal laid bare many of the dividing lines that have plagued the House GOP for the past two and a half years, and ceded leverage in the spending fight to the Senate and Democrats who control that chamber.

People out here in the real world know this is all a bunch of bullshit, but they seem at their wit's end to know what to do to correct the problem.
