I Hope the Bitch Gets Euthanized

This kind of thing is not unheard of, not with animal rights whackos or with malicious neighbors. Obviously this woman stole the dog from a very sick man, and then had the dog killed rather than pay for his veterinary care.

Or, more likely, she was covering up the evidence of the dog when police were closing in on her.

I hope she spends 10 years in prison, but it will no doubt be less than that for this bitch.

I hope the dog's owner sues the pants off of her and the veterinarian who did the dirty deed.

The woman is either batshit crazy or just plain evil:

Officer Hecker said that after placing two unanswered phone calls to Mrs. Paris, she went to her home, where she found Mrs. Paris in a back doorway with the husky behind her. When asked about the dog, Mrs. Paris said she had adopted him from the Animal Rescue League, Officer Hecker testified.

Mrs. Paris, however, could not provide documentation and “became very belligerent” and said she didn’t want to answer any more questions, Officer Hecker said.

“She seemed angry that I was questioning her,” Officer Hecker said. “She told me it was none of my business. ... She got in my face in a very threatening manner.”

Officer Hecker said she contacted Pittsburgh police Officer Christine Luffey and returned with her and other officers Feb. 11 to seize the dog.

I hope scientists are successful in preserving this endangered species of duck:

Conservationists have taken the first step in their quest to save the world's rarest duck - the Madagascar pochard.

After being hampered by harsh weather and illness, a team successfully set up a small rearing facility for the ducks.

This rescue plan was mounted when scientists realised how close the birds were to the brink of extinction.

The pochards were believed to be extinct in the late 1990s. They were rediscovered in 2006 but are now classified as critically endangered.

This proposed ordinance or law concerns me because it is the kind of thing animal rights people get behind, when in fact they are opposed to animal domestication. Once all pets are spayed or neutered, in a decade or so none will exist.

I can't believe the whole thing:

Willoughby said she thought they would be able to return for the animals, and that she had arranged with a neighbor to bring them food and water.

But Willoughby departed in January, over nine months ago, and Willoughby's dogs have been the subject of much discussion. 17-year-old neighbor Brittany Henson said some of the dogs have died from neglect.

"There used to be 10 ... in there, and there's like three or four now. There were puppies that me and my boyfriend tried to rescue, but they ended up dying," said Henson.

Another neighbor said that there were multiple plastic bags on the property with dead dogs in them, but Willoughby said she hadn't heard about anything like that. She said she had asked a neighbor to check on the dogs just an hour ago, and had been told that there were no dead dogs currently on the property, and that the dogs were fine had food and water.

Willoughby did admit some animals have died, however.

This woman should have called an animal rescue group at the very beginning. ALL of the dogs would have survived and lived in good homes.

This just pisses me off.

Whether we like it or not, Carrie Prejean will keep her Miss California tiara after all:

Donald Trump just declared that Carrie Prejean will remain as Miss California USA. He said that she had given an honest answer to a tough question, and that there’s nothing wrong with the pictures of her. “We’re very proud of her,” he said, calling her strong, tough, smart and very beautiful.

Ms. Prejean is now giving a lengthy response. “I would like to thank God for trusting me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs,” she said. She also blasted Perez Hilton for asking her a question that she said was politically charged and hid his own personal agenda.

“I am convinced more than ever of the importance of standing up for your beliefs and convictions,” she declared.

The colt has the pedigree. He is Bold Ruler through and through on both his sire's line and his dam's. His sire, A.P. Indy*, now 18, is one of the top sires in the world and probably the most successful of Seattle Slew's progeny. He was Horse of the Year in 1992 and won the second-fastest Belmont Stakes in history at 2:26 (tied with Easy Goer). A.P. Indy's grandsire, the immortal Secretariat, owns the fastest Belmont, probably for all time. Stevie Wonderboy's grandsire on his dam's side, Summer Squall, won the 1990 Preakness and is a half-brother to A.P. Indy. Their dam is Weekend Surprise, a daughter of Secretariat. Seattle Slew was a great-grandson of Bold Ruler, and Secretariat was a son of Bold Ruler.

People talk as if the Bold Ruler line has died out. It hasn't at all, but it isn't as popular as it was in the 1960s and 1970s. The Raise a Native, Northern Dancer, and Mr. Prospector lines have been dominant in recent decades. But because his descendants so dominated thoroughbred racing during those two decades, especially in the classics, Bold Ruler has to be considered the greatest thoroughbred sire of all time.

Remember, too, that while Northern Dancer, Nijinsky II, and Mr. Prospector sired far more winners, they also lived far longer than Bold Ruler, who was only 17 when he was put down because of cancer in 1971. They also were bred to far more mares each year. Bold Ruler was bred to only 35 mares a year, for a total of only 356 foals, yet his percentage of winners was an incredible 23 percent. He was sire of the year eight times. That is what is called dominance.
