The Graceland of Britain

is finally open to the public:

"In Mr. Lennon's room, pictures of Elvis Presley and Brigitte Bardot are tacked to the walls, 45's by Lonnie Donegan and Little Richard are strewn around the sill behind an eiderdown-covered bed, and books by his favorite childhood author, Lewis Caroll, sit open on a desk. There is an extension loudspeaker from the family radio. He used to listen to Radio Luxembourg, the only source in those days for American rhythm and blues music by people like Gene Vicent and Fats Domino."

The childhood home should become a big tourist attraction.
