Kind of an Overblown

book review in today's Salon (free one-day pass) about Caroline Kennedy's new book based on her father's Profiles in Courage. The writer wastes countless keystrokes wondering if Bush could someday make it in such a book because of his "determination," "courage," or whatever adjective Karl Rove thinks is appropriate for the week.

Bush is the LAST person in the world who could be considered "courageous." He's a chickenshit and a slacker who would have never amounted to a damned thing if somebody hadn't pulled strings on his behalf. He didn't apply himself in prep school, in college, in the labor force, and certainly not in political life. He definitely isn't courageous when push comes to shove. Look at his scrubbed military record, where he skipped out a year in the Air National Guard, look at his behavior during 9/11 when he hid out in a bunker in some god forsaken place.

Bush isn't courageous; he's a bullheaded, bullshit bully who is too intellectually dim to realize it or even care.
