on the debate. The first paragraphs in the column are exactly how the Republicans would depict each and every one of them. Those are allegedly George Stephanopoulos' characterizations of the candidates. Kurtz gives similar "reviews" of the candidates, focusing almost entirely on appearances and other such superficialities.

Of course, I have much stronger adjectives (which I wrote in yesterday) to describe Bush, and none of them are cosmetic, either. How funny "journalists" think somebody so obviously incompetent, so obviously out of it, could even be considered a model leader.

I have to admit Gephardt didn't do badly, either, given the format, but they are still a disappointment. Gore is head and shoulders above all of them put together.

Kurtz Kount: He's cheating because so many of these "paragraphs" are one-liners. Kurtz 44, C&P 33. I am sure Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit fame is just gushy over the fact Kurtz mentions him in his column. Not that the guy needs the hits.

I also noticed Kurtz refrained from calling the group the "Columbia 9." Maybe somebody told him about how bad it sounded.
