Sometimes

I feel American Prospect has some good articles, but of late it has become increasingly a Dean for President shill rag. Jones is impressed by the man with the mouth and how he can "excite" people (which is a laugh having watched his act), especially the five percent or so of the self-styled progressive base. It's good he's directing anger at Bush. But what ain't good is how he continues to trash the other candidates, thus cutting his nose off to spite his face. Not only candidates, but President Clinton and President Gore, in effect.

Which is why this blogger will NEVER support Dean. Never. Not even if he gets the nomination by some fluke. I've written about when I first saw him and thought he never rang true. But early on I wrote I would support him. But when he pulled that Wellstone shit about being from "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party," Dean made my shit list for life. This conservative Democrat, a DLC-style Democrat, had the goddamned gall to paint all of the other candidates, all of whom have far more impressive liberal credentials, as frauds, as sellouts. Finding out Joe Trippi of Jerry Brown '92 infamy being his manager only sealed the deal for me.

It's time for everybody to quit crowning this guy the nominee when the caucuses and primaries are months away. There are other candidates who deserve some play, too.
