Controversial
director Leni Riefenstahl has died at the age of 101.
She directed one of the most controversial films of all time, Triumph of the Will, a documentary of one of Hitler's rallies, but it basically glorified the Hitler machine. She later directed Olympia, a celebrated documentary of the 1936 Olympic Games.
Later on she had a successful career as a photographer.
Riefenstahl was one of the most talented directors ever, but to many people her association with the Hitler regime (despite her protestations) tarnishes her reputation.
