This "high noon at Crawford" meeting, which didn't accomplish anything except create yet another news cycle, happened to be about the biggest story of the day. Max Cleland wasted his time trying to deliver a letter to our dictator at his home. The letter's message was to plead with Bush to call for an end to the SBV ads. And of course Cleland was met by another Vietnam veteran and Texas Land Commissioner, Jerry Patterson, who was summoned by the Bush campaign to deliver THEIR letter. And absolutely nothing got done.
