Jeanine Pirro, who I remember seeing on 48 Hours in its segment on acquitted killer Robert Durst, is going to challenge Senator Hillary Clinton next year for the Senate seat.

Even though she IS a real moderate Republican and has similar views to Clinton on a variety of issues, Republicans are hoping she can at least bruise Hillary's chances of getting the Democratic nomination in 2008.

I doubt she can beat Hillary, but no doubt the race would give her statewide exposure for any future races.

First she has to beat other Republicans in the primary.
