And since he is one of the chief culprits who swallowed every lie by the Republican operatives and spewed it on the national stage, I have to take every word of his on this matter with a huge grain of salt.

He knows, and the mainstream media know, they promoted right-wing lies with regard to the Killian memos, but they didn't care what damage it did to the journalism profession in the long run. What was important was sucking Karl Rove's ass.

So Mary Mapes can go hang, no matter how truthful her account is, and it is the truth.

And speaking of investigative journalists, I won't even mention the spectacular fall of Bob Woodward.
