Speaking in front of that old right-wing think tank, the American Enterprise Institute, the president was deeply offended by Democratic criticism that his puppet had lied about our reasons for going into Iraq. He said the Democrats in the Senate were "dishonest and reprehensible," a case of the pot calling the kettle black or something.

David Corn was overwhelmed by the speech and gives it loads of praise.

It almost seems as if this administration has absolutely no intention of withdrawing from Iraq, or if it does decide to withdraw, it will do it enough to make it look like we are pulling out, but we will still be occupying the region. (J. Scott Applewhite, AP)
