A nightmare for the Democrats is possibly in the works as former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson is mulling a run.
I don't know if he could make it through the primaries; he may not be enough of a wingnut, but if he got the nomination, I don't think there is a Democrat out there, Edwards included, who could beat him.
Senator Chuck Hagel, however, wouldn't be much of a threat despite his antiwar schtick.
