JOHN EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES NEVADA STAFF
Chapel Hill, North Carolina - Today, the John Edwards for President campaign announced its senior Nevada staff, which will oversee all of the campaign's operations in Nevada in preparation for the 2008 caucuses. The staff includes veterans of numerous political campaigns, including the 2004 Iowa presidential caucuses. Their years of caucus experience will be tremendous assets to the campaign as it organizes for the Nevada caucuses.
The campaign announced that Bill Hyers would serve as the Nevada State Director. Hyers has important experience organizing caucus-goers, having worked for Senator Edwards' 2004 campaign in Iowa. He most recently worked as Campaign Manager for Kristen Gillibrand's successful congressional campaign in New York's 20th district, defeating an incumbent Republican congressman. In 2004, Hyers also worked as the Coordinated Campaign Director in Alaska. He has run numerous ballot initiatives and mayoral races.
The campaign also announced the following staff:
Roberto Rodriguez, Nevada Political Director
Rodriguez was previously the state director for the California Voter Registration Project in 2004 and the managing director for LLAMAME, an organization responsible for tailoring targeted communications strategies in Spanish and English to both Latino and non-Latino communities. Rodriguez has also worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Barbara Boxer and Congresswoman Linda Sanchez.
Preston Elliot, Nevada Field Director
Elliot is an experienced field staffer, working most recently as the Field Director for the Montana Coordinated Campaign, which contributed to a victory for Senator Jon Tester. Elliot also worked in Iowa on Congressman Dick Gephardt's 2004 presidential campaign.
Oscar Lopez, Nevada Trip Director
Lopez was a regional field organizer for the Hispanic areas in Albuquerque and Valencia Counties for Patricia Madrid's 2006 congressional race in New Mexico's first district.
Kelly Harlow, Nevada Regional Field Director
Harlow worked on Senator Edwards' 2004 presidential campaign in Iowa. During the 2006 election cycle, Harlow was a Regional Field Director for the successful Rhode Island Coordinated Campaign for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
