Flip-flops:
McCain: supported tax cuts. Spending must be kept under control.
Tax cuts repeal:
Thompson: Middle income taxpayers, no taxes on capital gains, etc.
Brownback: Alternate flat tax.
Gilmore and Thompson: Alternate tax.
Huckabee: Overhaul the tax code. Abolish IRS.
Giuliani: Get rid of the estate tax.
Paul: No taxes, etc.
Hunter: Tax breaks for those companies who keep jobs in this country.
Tancredo: More tax shit, worries about structure of spending.
McCain: Line item veto needed (though USSC got rid of it). Alternate minimum tax.
Democrats who'd work in the White House:
McCain: Would hire Democrats, go to the business world, likes Lieberman. Look at their talents and what they'd contribute rather than their party affiliation.
One thing the federal government does well and one poorly:
Hunter: Zarkawi or whatever his name is. Worst: border security.
Evolution:
McCain: Yes. I believe in evolution but when I hike the Grand Canyon at sunset I believe a god is there.
Administration:
Romney: Wants a new team. Talks about the American family, hits out of wedlock births, etc. We have to help the American family.
What's the difference between a Sunni and a Shiia:
Giuliani: Gives a history lesson. I can't even spell the goddamned names of the Muslim groups.
True conservative:
Thompson: I am the one who you can count on. Won't say one thing and do another. He has been consistent since 1976.
Do you trust the MSM:
Paul: Some of them. Trust the internet a lot more. Trust the freedom of expression. Doesn't want to regulate the internet.
Religious beliefs and foreign policy:
Brownback: Religious beliefs DO have an influence. It doesn't dominate but it does influence as it does for anybody. Believes in strong, aggressive foreign policy.
Significant weakness:
Giuliani: Strengths outweigh my weaknesses. I'm an optimist. Worked miracles on NYC by using Reagan optimism.
Brownback: Won't attack Giuliani. Wants to focus on big ideas.
Administration scandals:
Huckabee: We are not going to see jobs sent overseas. It's outrageous to see a CEO to get hundreds of millions of dollars while workers lose their pensions.
Protect women's rights in fair wages/reproductive choice:
Tancredo: Yes to the former, no to the latter.
Iraq dead:
Hunter: Give troops what they need to be protected.
National tamper proof ID card:
Giuliani: Good for immigration security.
Romney: Supports it. Talked about Olympic Games security.
Brownback: No. We don't need a new system.
McCain: Yes.
Paul: Agin' it. More libertarian blather.
Tancredo: No.
Scooter Libby pardoned?
Romney: Won't say. But he thinks Fitz acted wrong going after Libby.
Back to immigration and ID cards.
More Scooter:
Brownback: Leave it to the legal system. Leave it up to the president. Weasel words, no law violated.
Thompson: No national ID card. Libby: President needs to make the case for pardoning to the American people.
Tancredo: Pardon him.
Paul: No.
Schiavo:
Romney: Family should decide. Supported Jeb's move, but opposed Congress's move.
Brownback: Yes. Talked about the de novo review.
McCain: Difficult issue. Taken more time and looked at it. Maybe acted too hastily.
Giuliani: Should be left to the courts.
Would it be good for America to have Bill Clinton back in the White House?
Romney: You've got to be kidding.
Brownback: Bad because of the policies.
Thompson: No, it would mean Hillary Clinton would be president, she tried to socialize medicine.
Huckabee: Not a good idea to have either there.
Hunter: Clinton cut the military. Schiavo: Congress did the right thing.
Missed the next response. These guys are interchangeable.
McCain: No.
Paul: Voted to impeach him.
Giuliani: We were on defense on terraism.
Tancredo: It's a lousy idea.
Bush:
Romney: Thinks he is trying to protect the American people under the guise of terra.
McCain: I would not have mismanaged the war. Veto spending bill after spending bill.
Thompson: Addressed terra and homeland security, energy independence.
Huckabee: Not centralize this government. States rights.
Hunter: We are losing our industrial base.
Brownback: Different solution in Iraq. Political as well as a military solution.
Tancredo: NCLB, Medicare prescription bill overarching bills.
Thompson: Settle situation in Iraq. Increase diplomacy.
Giuliani: We had a president who made the right decision at the right time. We should remind people of that.
Paul: Foreign policy should be changed. Protect privacy of people, warrantless searches, not violate habeus corpus.
The end.
