Republicans thus far have a weaker field than the Democrats. None of them really stood out tonight as presidential calibre, but Romney and Giuliani were clearly tripped up over abortion and their inconsistencies on this issue. McCain did a little bit better, but he seemed pretty tired.
I thought Brownback and Huckabee did best in this debate, while not agreeing with them, of course, but they probably won't get any traction from this.
I suspect there will be more cries for a savior for next year.
