said the kind of stuff about Barack Obama that they have said about Hillary Clinton, those people would be tarred and feathered. As it is, sexism, unlike racism, is entirely acceptable, even among the so-called progressive left.

Well, hell, I am old enough to remember the radical student movements of the 1960s, and women were treated like shit then. Because the men in those groups tended to treat women so poorly, the women in turn broke away and created radical feminist groups (as opposed to NOW and other mainstream women's groups).

So it's nothing new on the left.
