The problem is Biden will totally overshadow Obama and make people wonder what in the hell possessed Democrats, other than being highly susceptible to media propaganda, to pick Obama.
Of course they didn't; the primaries and caucuses were stolen, but leaving that aside the general voting public will be questioning this for the next two months:

The Biden selection is the next logistical step in an Obama campaign that has become more negative - a strategic decision that may be necessary but threatens to run counter to his image.
He can't beat McCain no matter WHO he puts on the ticket. Biden should be at the top of the ticket. He could horsewhip McCain clear to Arizona.
