On the sidebar I added an episode from the 1960s variety show The Hollywood Palace, which was taped early in 1965 and hosted by Groucho Marx. Clips include his daughter, Melinda, who quit show business in 1972, and the last clip on this video bar one should probably not miss features Groucho's foil in several Marx Brothers films, Margaret Dumont, who died just a few days after the taping of the program. They reprise their "Hooray for Captain Spaulding" skit from Animal Crackers. Who said Dumont didn't have a sense of humor? It was apparent she did. She clearly cracked up during several of Groucho's "ad libs" or rehearsed "ad libs."
I thought it was a good episode and wanted to include it here on the blog along with the other clips.
